Why did you join York Rescue Boat?
"I've always loved being around water and at the time of joining I was actually a pool lifeguard. I realised that I wanted more than just looking after pools when I did an open water lifeguarding course. York Rescue Boat was a perfect step up from that and since joining have developed physical skills and become mentally stronger."
What is your favourite part of volunteering with York Rescue Boat?
"Working alongside other emergency services towards a common goal. It's so rewarding being able to assist the police, fire service or other search and rescue organisations locate a missing person or rescue someone."
