Why did you join York Rescue Boat?
"I needed a new focus to spend our spare time out of work after our daughter left home. I was keen to volunteer for something where I felt that I was helping others but more importantly that I would be making a difference."
What is your favourite part of volunteering with York Rescue Boat?
"The people I meet along the way on our patrols, the crew have become very good friends and being able to educate the public on the dangers of the water."
