Call Out 38/19

Our on-call duty manager was once again awoken by North Yorkshire Police at 05.06 to reports of a person in the river Foss near to Castle car park.

The team were quickly paged and responded to the scene, upon arrival the team found a female in the water been assisted by Police officers who had thrown a lifeline and lifejacket to her. Two of our Swiftwater rescue technicians quickly suited up and prepared to enter the water if required. Upon the arrival of North Yorkshire fire and rescue ladders were used to safely take the female from the river where she was handed over to staff from Yorkshire Ambulance service
