We don’t get any money from the government, and we need to raise the £21000 a year it costs to run the team by doing sponsored events, grant writing, talks, collections and appeals. No fundraising = no team.

Lives can be at stake and so we need people we can rely on, we're only as strong as our weakest link so you must be able to work as a team and communicate well.  We are looking for caring and compassionate people who are be willing to work outdoors in all weathers at various times of day and night.

As part of our operations team, you will help provide safety patrols along York's rivers on Friday and Saturday nights as well as other peak times such as bank holidays and race days.

Initially training as a foot patrol team member, you will provide the eyes and the ears of the team.

Members will also assist with delivering water safety presentations to schools and other groups as well as assisting the fundraising team at events.

We provide all the training and no experience is required. This is an active role in a busy search and rescue team and all applicants should have a reasonable level of fitness.
