What we are looking for
Before you join the team, we think it’s important to realise how much of a commitment it will be – not just from you, but also your families.
First thing first – we are a charity, and all prospective members are expected to contribute towards the fundraising for the charity. We don’t get any money from the government, and we need to raise the £21000 a year it costs to run the team by doing sponsored events, grant writing, talks, collections and appeals. No fundraising = no team.
Lives can be at stake and so we need people we can rely on, we're only as strong as our weakest link so you must be able to work as a team and communicate well. We are looking for caring and compassionate people who are be willing to work outdoors in all weathers at various times of day and night.
We welcome applications from a range of backgrounds all we ask is that you are over the age of 18, enthusiastic and willing to learn. Have a reasonable level of personal fitness and can pass an enhanced DBS check
Our operational team members make a difference to there local community by providing safety patrols around Yorks Rivers during weekend evenings and peak times as well as responding to call-outs from the emergency services.
